Connor Hellebuyck traded from Winnipeg Jets to New Jersey Devils in six-piece deal

The Winnipeg Jets have dealt star goaltender Connor Hellebuyck to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for four players and a pair of future draft picks, according to the report. New Jersey sent Dawson Mercer, Nick Bjugstad, Nico Daws, and Alexander Command to Winnipeg, along with a seventh-round selection in 2027 and a second-round pick in 2029. Hellebuyck, a three-time Vezina Trophy winner who spent his entire career in Winnipeg after being drafted there in 2012, had formally requested a trade in August. The move addresses a persistent goaltending weakness in New Jersey following the underwhelming tenure of Jacob Markstrom, who was traded away in the offseason.

He said at the time that he had made the request months earlier and tried to keep the situation private.
